AIM Music ''Music Supervisor Of The Year'' 2022 Nominee, Amelia McCloskey is the founder and CEO of AM Licensing. Based in the UK, she brings over 15 years of experience across the music and media industries. A background in developing artists and label services with her business AM Studios resulted in a natural progression into licensing music and then music supervision.
THE ISSUE:
Research and provision of health care in the US is profoundly unequal. This applies particularly with respect to:
maternal, infant, and child health;
mental and behavioral health;
specified conditions that disproportionately affect racial and ethnic minority groups, such as certain cancers, HIV/AIDS, kidney disease, and diabetes;
communities facing health and other inequities; and
nondiscrimination in the provision of services in federally supported health programs.
This month, our music supervisor is from the UK and has asked for donations to The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust (link below). Ectopic pregnancies are the leading cause of death in early pregnancy and are one of the areas of reproductive and maternal health care that need more funding and awareness.
THE ACTION:
Donate to https://ectopic.org.uk/
You can donate to this even if you don't reside in the UK
OR
Write to your member of congress in support of The Health Equity and Accountability Act
Example letter to cut and paste (please personalize to add your own reason for supporting the bill):
Hi [Name],
Thank you for the hard work you do every day to represent our district.
I’m writing to ask you to support The Health Equity and Accountability Act.
For too long the areas of women's health, maternal and child health and the health of minorities has been underfunded. This urgently needs to be rectified.
Please support this important legislation.
Many thanks,
[Your name]
